Exactly the same problem on a Sept delivered MY10 - rear near-side door seal split. I was told it hadn't been installed quite right and it was replaced under warranty.

Dealer confirmed that a new door seal is required. Waited 30mins to be seen, 30seconds later confirmation of the split, dealer will order a new one and ring me to fit. Said it would take 10mins to fit.

It is easy enough to remove, it just pull up but it might be advisable to get a couple of spare clips as sometimes they disappear down inside the bodywork or they can distort. especially if they have possibly been removed before.
