Cam belt

When I bought my 2.7 last summer, at just under 100k on the clock the chap told me that at 85k it had a 105k service and both belts done. I thought I'd check do today I phoned the garage that did the service , and they said they had done 105k service but the chap had said not to do belts as they were done a year before. I've phoned the garage who did the previous service and they didn't di it either!

Bearing in mind the owner at the time may not have been fibbing as an Indy may have done it , but I doubt it Sad

Looks like I will be getting my spanners out again Shocked

it was not the bracket it was a bad batch of oil pumps where the casting was floored and failed so while you are doing the belt its worth doing the pump at the same time Thumbs Up

Ok mate thanks,

I'm thinking about oil pump to. Just been trying to catch up on all the posts to see if mine could have an issue and I suspect it can. It's SALLSAA137A...

Do you know if the crank pulley is on a tapered key ? I suppose it very tight and needs the flywheel locking to undo ?

N

The crankshaft pulley is not on a key way and it needs to locked via the flywheel locking tool., Advanced Factors have all you need including the oil pump.

Flack Thumbs Up

Ok thanks , so it's just a taper , I'm just thinking once it's off any timing reference is lost so you have to use flywheel ?
Cheers
Nick
