on a serious note from what i can gather from your information and in my experience is that the sub base underneath your floor slab has not been compacted properly or was put in wet or is generaly infill that we call in the trade " |

Sorry to hear this VA... I have come to this thread late and know v little about NHBC claims etc (will leave that to the existing experts here, good work Caz and ) - but if all else fails will your buildings insurance cover the cost of restorative work? |

Were there any trees on the site before development? If there were it could have caused 'heave', which might be the cause of the problem with the floor!!!

God I wish I had block & beam floors but to be honest I don't know. I have been told that a concret pour was involved at some point - if that helps!

The concrete pour would be for the foundations. When we built our house we had nine, six metre wagon loads of the stuff. We used bison beams and the floors have never moved.
