This was a single build house on the plot of a previous house. The new house half on the footprint of the old house but not where the kitchen is. My neighbours houses are 100 years old.

Amtico isn't a good idea!! If it were our problem we would take up the floor, determine what the 'real' problem was, unfortunately having underfloor heating will complicate things but to do the job properly a new floor needs to be laid.

ive never used it personaly it but i believe amtico is a flexible material which would just hide further cracking on the floor itself ! ground bearing floor slabs do tend to sink slightly on new builds and lot of builders and architects are recommended not to use this floor slab design now and opt for reinforced suspended slabs .or block & beam floors it may well be that it has settled down by now but the size of the cracks would have me worried too and obviously if its to a great extent you want it sorting now and i agree with caz to demand the original main contractor sorts it or send him the bill ![]() |

N&B - the cracking is through the slabs which are about 2 cm thick. See pics of worst crack. As mentioned there are various others but not as bad as this.
