Battery Charge level

What kind of reading should i be getting from a battery in the car (probably the original ; 2006 model) when the car has been stood unused for a couple of days.
Outside temperature was around -1 to 4 degrees. With the tool i had it was measuring 11.47 volts? Is that normal?
I've read elsewhere that a poor battery can also throw up the suspension faults, which i get intermittently.

11.47V is only about 20% charged. I would get hold of a good quality smart charger and give the battery a full charge.

Around 12.7V is fully charged. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Hi,
i went and bought a trickle charger as i don't want to be having battery issues constantly and it seems most people on here recommend them.
just been to install it and the manual says one eyelet over the positive and one earthed on the chassis.
I didn't see anything nearby that looked like an earth. would this be suitable?

Also, it has the quick connector, would i be able to leave the quick connector connected and replace the plastci housing over the battery and fusebox? Or does anyone perceive issues with that?

cheers

Can't see what you mean.

There are 3 earth studs on the wing just the other side of the plastic wall.

If its a Trickle Charger, then connect it onto the Battery In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

That's what i thought, if i'm trickle charging the battery, nightly, or weekly surely it connects to the batteries positive and negative terminals. but the manual said positive to battery, negative to earth on chassis, also did soem google searches and it was 50/50 split.

cheers

I think they worry about sparking near the battery (which CTEK's don't do)

So they like to be away from the battery.

I don't think its very easy to put an eyelet on a RRS earth terminal anyway?

I have my quick connector under the battery cover and not had any problems.
Mine is the Ctek.
I was advised by the main dealer not to connect the negative directly to the battery and to use an earth point on the body. MY13.5 Autobiography, Santorini Black, Privacy Glass. Gone
Driving a milk float for now.
