Hi........help please.....thank you

Hi all. Nice forum. Plenty of help. Thanks.
Hope I can get some more help now.

I have a 2008 L320 tdv8. Owned for 20 months now. It's had new alternator and battery. Turbos and EGRs.while the body was off had the brake pipes done.
I bought an iid tool. As all of a sudden I got the transmission fault, Hdc not available suspension lowered. Faults are for the locker namely the clutch calibration. I'm going to try the software update and clean all contacts on motor and control module. If still a problem take off motor and take it to starter motor/alternator fixing guy. If that fails put motor back on, disconnect the control module and tell the config it isn't fitted. Will any of that work?
And now I also have a diesel smell when engine is running. No leak I can see and not really lost power as far as I can tell, however mpg is way down. Any ideas?
I live in Birmingham are there any range rover experts around. I have had it serviced in monkspath. Didn't pick up TSB for diff motor( dispite me asking if any software updates needed doing.) Nor the worn front wishbone bushes or the corroded brake lines.
Oh and it smokes from passenger side exhaust on start up.
I had the turbos done elsewhere but isn't a range rover sport expert. Otherwise I'm taking it to Dundee. Damn the fuel bill It'll kill me. At the moment I'm still hopeful to get it sorted.

Please.....and thanks

Is it always quiet on here? Or is it just because it's the week days

It is rarely quiet on here, just that at the moment there isn't anyone on the forum who can give the advice that you are looking for. I'm sure that there are alternative Indies in your part of the country - maybe your could start a new specific thread asking for details of good/ reliable and recommended Indies in the Birmingham area. I would think a PM to member Bodsy might save you a drive to Dundee as he is a mobile equivalent to Disco-Mikey in the Midlands and southern UK. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Thanks

Hi
I use ultimate 4x4 Dudley, not too far from Merry hill. They have been great with my dads sport and in the past both my dads and my p38. Not too far from you.

i would hazard a guess that your egr valves are faulty, as they would give incorrect readings and chuck smoke out 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater Smile)))
