Just managed to do a brim to brim and it comes out at 35.5, about 60% motorway the rest local roads.
Don't like running the tank down too much so filled up on 48mls left in tank, but if I did let it go down more I think I could've gone over the 600ml to the tank as it was (according to the trip) on 574mls.
Interestingly after I brimmed it again the range came out as

18 from 4.2sc mostly motorway 70-75. And I thought that that was a bit low due to a slight misfire issue.

Australia 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Chawton White

8.7L/100km on the gauge.
Average about 9.5-10.0L/100km in reality.

That's about 28-30mpg if you're from the old country...

Long trips I've seen real economy as low as 8LHK. MY08 RRS TDV6, Chawton/Black, sunroof, hk, 268k km
2001 Audi A4 1.8T quattro 5mt sport, 340k km

15.2 from my 4.2 SC. Mix of everything really. Still seems to be better than most so far but not all right enough.

Currently getting 31.4 MPG doesn't seem to go much below this. Around town driving.

Now my car has loosened up a bit I'm still very pleased with the indicated MPG on a trip back from Scotland to Cardiff not so long ago. Run back home on a Sunday so the Motorway was quite busy but I reckon it's still not bad for an SVR. The MPG is much better than my previous 2010 RRS 5.0L SUpercharged. Thumbs Up

Just completed my second trip (Sussex to Aberdeenshire) this year. Total miles 1390; Fuel used 241.6 litres; cost £302.68. Works out at 26.15 mpg (actual not indicated) and a cost of £0.22 per mile. That's up on my trip in the summer which worked out at £0.18 per mile and 27.23 mpg. Increased consumption was I guess down to winter motoring versus summer and therefore using more electrics and it was probably a bit faster average speed.
BTW - I refilled on the journey up at Annadale Water Services on the M74 - diesel price £1.329!!! Crying or Very sad Yes I expect to pay more for motorway services but, really?
Overall since I have had the car it is giving 25.48 mpg on 13,245 miles of mixed motoring i.e. a few long trips, many short trips (a few miles for shopping gym etc) and some 100- 200 mile trips. Robin

Eaters, next time you do that run try to get as far as J10 on the M9 just north of Stirling Castle - there is a Sainsbury's forecourt less than a mile from the motorway heading into Stirling. When used I to do Southampton to Stirling I topped up at Gaydon on the M40 and then had enough to get home 20miles west of Stirling without refueling at Stirling although I usually did fill up as prices in the village filling station are similar to the motorway services prices. That was a 2007 TDV8. I can do the same run in my 3.0SDv6 on ¾ tank of diesel provided I rein in the speed and stick to speed limits ruthlessly. I also generally get noticeably better mpg going south than coming north............... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

We have just driven from near Chamonix to Calais; 500+ motorway miles with 99% of the journey using cruise control set at 75mph. Slightly disappointed at the indicated 32.9mpg shown in the trip computer (which was reset at the start). 3 people, with moderate baggage (all below the boot curtain).

Does this figure surprise anyone?

Thanks for the tip Tim. I'll make use of that on my next trip.

As for travelling north vs south, that's obvious isn't it? It's down hill going south! Rolling with laughter Robin

Hafman - can't speak for the V6 but I know that in the V8 there's quite a noticeable difference in mpg between cruise at 70 and 80 mph. Robin
