Satnav - not sure if this is the right procedure but key in a route and then you have to turn up the radio volume when there is a command given (there is also a function to repeat the command too IIRC), the same procedure is used to adjust the volume of the PDC sounds too.

Thanks for the reply. I'm sure I've tried the volume knob but its difficult to know exactly when a command is being given. I will try that again tomorrow. I can't hear anything other than the bleeping in the car when the sensors are active. |

The bleeping is going to be a faulty sensor or loom. Bloody annoying, I just disabled mine by taking the fuse out. |

I've been pressing the button on the dash for a couple of years. They work in dry weather. Get a 2005-2009 RRS (FAH500210) sat nav/dash mat here - the one that wasn't there when you bought the car.

That'll be a damaged wire. The wires run behind the bumper shroud and can get pinched during a parking bump. Any damage to the insulation lets water in and they go wrong. It's easy to do a temporary repair (my temporary repair is a year old now and going strong so far) but a new loom is cheap too. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |
