United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
Hi all. Newbie needing advice please

I have bought my first RRS after wanting one for many years. It's a 2006 2.7 HSE with 69k on the clock fsh etc etc with Kahn bodykit, exhaust and wheels and I love it. Obviously there are 1 or 2 things I need/want to do to it but a couple of things that are slightly annoying are that the sat nav, even though working well on the screen has the sound icon in the bottom right of the screen with a red cross through it and I cannot seem to find how to unmute it for want of a better word and secondly, whenever I put the car in to reverse the parking sensors are bleeping both front and rear as though I am near something but I'm not ?? Any help on these subjects would be very much appreciated and apologies in advance if they have been covered before.

Satnav - not sure if this is the right procedure but key in a route and then you have to turn up the radio volume when there is a command given (there is also a function to repeat the command too IIRC), the same procedure is used to adjust the volume of the PDC sounds too.
It sounds like your parking sensors may have had one too many jet washes or the wires are corroded. There is a way to find out which one/ones are not working by listening to the ultrasonic clicking that they should be emitting when the system is active. I'm sure that someone will be along shortly to describe the correct test procedure. You should find plenty of threads about the issue in the Search function 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Thanks for the reply. I'm sure I've tried the volume knob but its difficult to know exactly when a command is being given. I will try that again tomorrow. I can't hear anything other than the bleeping in the car when the sensors are active.

Hi radders
Welcome to the club Thumbs Up
I'm currently away from home and my rrs so can't go outside and check, but I'm
Pretty sure it goes something like this .... on the satnav screen touch the screen once
Then at the bottom left of screen there is a little home icon , touch this ... then on the bottom
Right there are two sound icons , one will have the Red Cross through it (mute) the other is the unmute
Hope this helps . Thumbs Up

The bleeping is going to be a faulty sensor or loom. Bloody annoying, I just disabled mine by taking the fuse out.

I've been pressing the button on the dash for a couple of years. They work in dry weather. Mr. Green Get a 2005-2009 RRS (FAH500210) sat nav/dash mat here - the one that wasn't there when you bought the car.

Spiffing wheel centre caps available

That'll be a damaged wire. The wires run behind the bumper shroud and can get pinched during a parking bump. Any damage to the insulation lets water in and they go wrong. It's easy to do a temporary repair (my temporary repair is a year old now and going strong so far) but a new loom is cheap too. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
