You lot should be on stage Rolling Eyes

Passed 1450 miles today and half my second tank left - for my usage the phev is spot on - if I was pulling the van and/or bombing up and down the motorway I would probably not buy one especially if I bothered to research it before buying instead of whinging afterwards because I didn't check Whistle

When you'd finished with them, how on earth do you get them back in the truck? You'd definitely need SWMBO to help with that Wink Robin

Sorry ADY, as BC so kindly reminded us, Bow down Milk Float Man falls of a big wide car ramp fitted with guide flanges along the sides (I know he blames the dealer Whistle ), so no way would he ever manage to drive up on to the Track N Go devices.
I wonder how long before he drives off with the electric charging cable still attached Whistle In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

So yesterday I had a creak fixed on the drivers seat - booked in no bother, nice loaner and fixed first time so no repeat trip needed Cool

Now as some of you know I've had a few issues with LR dealers over the years so trust is a problem for me......................

Therefore I take a photo of the mileage when I leave my vehicles and check it when I collect - sad I know but when you get your RRS back with 100 miles it tends to get you like this plus reading posts on these forums about 100mph alerts from tracker and I know some LR technicians who liked to brag about joy riding customers cars Rolling Eyes

Imagine my surprise to find 8 miles had appeared during the seat creak fix Confused

So in I go and ask about the miles expecting to be told "we had to test drive it to see if the creak was fixed" but what I got was "the technician did a couple of miles to test for the creak" but absolute refusal to accept it had done 8 miles while there even with date/time stamped pics to prove it Shocked

They have just rang now to say after I left they spoke to the Technician who admits he did a few test drives - before, during and after fix applied so apologies for the confusion - I said I'm not happy and now they are asking if I bumped the loaner because there is a mark on the back but not to worry Thud

Give me a Censored break - if public transport wasn't so bad it would be worth it just to get rid of the hassle of dealing with Dealers Evil or Very Mad

Shame as I really liked the loaner and talk of a PHEV version in a few years which would be the icing on the cake for a second vehicle Rolling Eyes

I've gone through every LR dealer within 50 miles (some under 3 different owners) and now this with my local Mitsy Dealer - hopefully the other 2 locals are better or I will have to look at Lexus next - not heard anything bad about them Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Muddy - you must be getting fed up with changing cars to find a good Dealer. I am sure one exists but I admit pretty rare.

Each time you change must be expensive with residuals; surely just buy your dream car with all the extras say 2/3 years old with enough warranty to cover you for six months then take a Warranty Direct warranty out and use a good Indy for servicing and repairs.

I have to believe you will save a heap on the actual car which will more than offset extra fuel charges over the PHEV.

BTW I need to follow my own advice as I fell into the trap of buying new recently saying I would never do that again (only done once before). Love the car and no issues but the depreciation on new cars is silly. My son who buys and sells low mileage, excellent condition models between £10K - £25K thinks I am crazy and looking at some of the cars he sells I think he is right. Pretty well every time he brings another one back and I see the price I realise that buying new does not make sense.

Today he has just bought back a FL2 HSE beautiful and a Merc ML 320 nice. Current Merc GLE 3.5d 2016 model, 2011 RRS HSE standard
Previous 2012 FL2 liked but boot too small
Previous to LR's 3 x Merc E320 estates - fantastic load carriers and long distance cruisers, ultra reliable. Only changed as needed a 4x4 high tow vehicle. Did have a 1955 early LR drop down windscreen and fuel tank under the drivers seat; again very reliable and super rugged.

Agree Nigel - buying new is a mugs game Sad

I only bought the PHEV new for the huge discount/tax breaks and looking to keep it 3-5 years then buy used next time unless I get a cracking deal new Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I can't believe you're getting wound up about 8 miles on the clock. 100 miles I agree is taking the mick but 8 is hardly the end of the world.

Give them another chance, and if you'll forgive me, stop being an old woman about issues that don't exist. You enjoy the car so don't ruin that enjoyment by playing mind games with yourself. Chill. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Sorry but you have it wrong "I can't believe you're getting wound up", the Float is not clockwork, it's electrickery + an old Japcrap out of date petrol engine Rolling with laughter In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

When you put it like that RRSTDV8 I have to agree Embarassed

I have become paranoid thanks to treatment by LR dealers but I am working on chilling Bow down

A simple admission they did a few test drives when asked would of been fine but denial, changing story and accusing me of lying/marking loaner I don't think I will give them another chance when I can go elsewhere Thumbs Up

On a brighter note I've covered 1601 miles and spent £75 on petrol compared to £245 on diesel when I had the DS over the same distance Mr. Green

Even adding £45 for electric over this period that's still £125 saving over 6 weeks and a significant drop in my emissions Cool

SRE - if it's "an old Japcrap out of date petrol engine" how come I can drive in London free while the papers are full of stories like this about your engine over the last week Whistle

Oh Muddy
£125 saving over 6 weeks
£20 per week
£1k per year

Is it really worth it to save so little Whistle In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

It's not all about the money - I can give you a lift into the city too if you get banned Laughing

However I have also saved £8400 off price and £6400 in company tax as well as feeling smug when I drive through built up areas Mr. Green
