They've developed a modified brake pad to mask the fault...evidence enough.

Wurly, There is evidence on Topix so Land Rover do know about it. You don't mention the age or mileage of your car though. If it's still under Land Rover Warranty and you have informed them as soon as you heard it then climb into them as others including myself have had pads ( modified ) fitted under warranty and clearly they are not supposed to squeal!!! Good Luck. |

Wurly, I would find a different dealer if that's their attitude, it's known about and I bet they will claim regardless! John

They all seem to be consistently ....they're just like my kids, their first response to pretty much everything is to say NO! and a battle is needed.....unless of course there's something in it for them! |

My brakes squeal a little at times but the good news is they work very well as brakes! Get over it guys the important issue is the brakes work . Many cars can have brake squeal it isn't a RR design issue as they don't make the brakes. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW. |

Many cars, at this price point, can have squealing brakes?

We could probably go backwards and forwards here but quality the Brembos are , as for tyres if the car came with F1 grip with noise I'd accept and if I didn't like the noise I'd change the tyre's or ask for a change before purchase. What does Pee me off is the things that should work and are RR responsibility . M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW. |

Yes, but tyres have a noise rating and LR will evaluate tyres and decide the best compromise for the model. Brake squeal is not acceptable on a 'luxury' vehicle. Does 'copper grease' still ised these days? Gone: 2016.5MY RRS HSE Dyn 2015MY Disco Sport HSE 2011MY FL2 HSE 2010MY RRS HSE 2008MY D3 HSE |

It's not a Lux vehicle, it's a 4WD workhorse ! Built for going bush , towing a Camper , driving on the beach and outback tracks. A lexus is a Lux vehicle. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW. |
