I've got the Magnaflow fitted to mine and it sounds glorious, not boy racery at all. Fairly quiet at tickover but lets you hear the engine when you hoof it a bit |

Is it a cat back system with a x pipe and one centre box the same setup as the pic above?

It's a single box as in the pic but can't remember if there's an x pipe, pretty sure there isnt and it's two separate pipes running into the box.

May help anyone who hasn't seen what they're exhaust looks like off ! Removed it to replace rear brake pipes. Shows the 2 bolt flange and slip on pipes onto front section.

Are both boxes in the middle necessary or is the oval pear funny shaped one after the centre box just to quieten the sweet sounds of the V8

The first box is the swirl chamber where the gasses are balanced. The 'snail shell' is the resonator that eliminates most of the bass from the exhaust note. The rear cans control the volume.

So while im at the exhaust centre and to get a nice growl from my supercharged V8 would you say get rid of the snail shell resonator (the odd looking box) and both back boxes, so straight through pipe from centre box to both tips? Wow that V8 would definitely start to growl Id love the growl on low speeds but do you think it might be too loud on motorway/high speed? And im guessing it may improve a little power? or am I wrong to assume and will lose power? Nice one spanner that would be great Is your RRS also have a Supercharged V8 4.2/5.0? Hows the sound of your car now on motorway speeds? And did u experience any improvement on power after fitting your exhaust? Yes, mines a 4.2 S/C. To me it's fine at motorway speeds, not intrusive at all when you're cruising, just barks a bit when you put your foot down. I felt that there was a slight increase in power but that may be due to me driving it harder because I love the exhaust note |

Here's a link to the same exhaust on YouTube. I don't think it quite does it justice but it gives you the idea. Not sure if it'll work as first time posting a link! If not just search range rover sport Magnaflow

How did you get on? I've just had the resonator and the back boxes removed. Sounds absolutely glorious, but silent when keeping a steady speed. My favourite noise is when in sport mode, if you're slowing down, and the gear drops, there's a lovely V8 crackling noise.
