HID Bulb replacement, different setup to the usual

I bought replacement headlight and I'm trying to change the bulbs on both sides. On my old one the igniter twisted off and left the bulb in place which was a straightforward swap. On the new unit the igniter comes off with the bulb attached. I've looked and can't find any pics of how to get the bulb out on this setup.

I've tried twisting and prising but don't want to break anything.

Ok after a bit more research it turns out the new headlight uses D1S bulbs instead of D2S Sad

Yes, I went through the same learning experience.

That's why I said a couple of times on this forum not to trust the manual (or web pages) but to look at the bulbs. '08 RRS TDV8

The bulb type is actually moulded in to the top of the clear headlight cover along with a load of other info. You can see it when you open the bonnet. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
