Before changing steering rack I would get tie rod ends checked

Also check the ride heights. From the centre of the wheel to the wheel arch directly above it should be 466 rear and 465 front or thereabouts. Bodsys Brake Bible

It was a private sale, the chap did say he had lowered the suspension by 30mm , would this make a difference ? |

Almost certainly, especially if he didn't get the alignment sorted out too. Even with the alignment done it'll probably still be bad.

Resurrecting an old post as I’ve got a steering wander issue. Obviously I’ve had the alignment checked - it’s currently being looked at for the third time after having it up in the air to check all bushes and joints, which are tight.
