You can buy the parts for any year from a Land Rover dealer, mine dealer is quite close, only 20 mins or so by car.
I did have a look online, but there was nothing there, so a dealer is probably easiest. If your nearest dealer is too far to travel to, then they'll usually post the parts out to you...

hi,can you show how you actually remove the base to get to the seat bolts as mine need tightening .

When you say the bolts need tightening, do you mean the seat moves slightly? This is a separate issue and requires the adjustment system to be altered.

I concur, all 4 bolts would need to be very loose for you to feel the base moving!
As RRSTDV8 says, more than likely the electric adjustment system that needs tweaking as per the service bulletin. I can feel the same on mine when braking and accelerating sometimes. Starting to get a little annoying!

Thanks! Pretty sure the metal bases and foam are the same, but the covers are left and right handed. The edges facing the centre console have a material pad on them, as opposed to leather, to stop the seatbelt 'sockets' squeaking against them.

The passenger seat, at least in the EU, has an occupancy sensor on it. This is sandwiched between foam and heating element layer. You'd need to swap the sensor or at least add one to the other base. The foam and base pan are the same though. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Hi The leather on the side of the drivers seat has worn and needs replacing so was going to put the passenger seat on the drivers side while its away for repair would the occupancy sensor cause any problems and what does it do

Should be ok as a temporary solution. The occupancy sensor (a simple contact switch) tells the on board computer that someone is/not sitting in the passenger seat, and then you get the boings and flashing seatbelt light on the dash...

If the seat has an airbag in it it will be on the wrong side. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

But what a game trying to get those 4 bolts out!!! Such shallow heads for your torx and way over-tight.

I managed to round one off so went to the garage for ideas and he told me they always take the whole seat out on its runners because of exactly the same problem. He said it's just ...take off the plastic trims, 2 bolts at the front, 2 at the back, disconnect the seat belt, tip the seat back, disconnect the electrics and lift the whole seat out. He said they do that and re-dress the seat in about 2hrs.

Sounds easy but I'll continue this after I've had a go if necessary.

I'm replacing the seat foam (£44 oem part) and fixing a tear in the leather from the inside, then re-finishing the leather with a spray colour kit...or that's the plan anyway.


...oh and DON'T put your key in while the seat is disconnected or you'll get an airbag fault that doesn't self-clear.
