Had the car remapped at Alive in Lincoln... well recommended

Great service at Alive. Car went on the rolling road and pushed out 252bhp (2012 SDV6) initially, but felt very flat in comparison to the X5 I also own.

After the remap it went came out at just shy of 304bhp, but the driving difference is insane. I'm getting another 6mpg out of it and it feels like a different vehicle. Picks up straight away with minimal delay.

Very happy and kudos to Alive.

252bhp as standard, very close to the original 255bhp quoted from the factory Thumbs Up

I'm looking forward to having my first 3.0 in for a remap Laughing

Had mine done at Alive end of last year, Gary talked me through the full process, very impressed with the work and like you say, it transforms the drive of the car.

About 425 for the remap and another 50 for the rolling road.

Insurance... depends whether you want to tell them or not I suppose. Mine.is already down as an Overfinch with all the mods... made zero difference to Premium through Admiral.

With regards the others, I was reassured by Alive that there wouldn't be any issues and its a perfectly safe remap.

Another benefit of going for a company that specialises in tuning a specific brand, as Alive does Thumbs Up

My first map was not a good one, and caused me no end of (expensive) issues Big Cry

Seen lots of good things about these maps now. Shame I'm miles away Sad anyone used their mobile service?

Apart from Angel tuning in Banbury the only other option for a map with dyno seems to be AMD (used before on other car very good map). Are they considered a safe bet with RRS?

I remember getting my old cupra r mapped, 225 up to 265 and it was such an awesome feeling. Bet you're loving it Smile

Thanks for the responses. Not had a remap before but sounds like a great solution giving both power improvement and fuel economy improvement. Can always check with insurance before proceeding but insurance seems to go up and up regardless. Question I forgot to ask was if there is any impact on the much treasured warrantee? -----------------------------------------------

All remaps done by Alive agents, whether mobile or fixed location, are all tuned by Alive HQ

The file is read from the car, emailed to Alive to be tuned, and emailed back, then uploaded to the car Thumbs Up

AMD don't have the best rep in the VAG world and that's what they specialize in, I avoided them and took my RS4 to MRC.

I drove 5 hours each way to Alive's HQ as I like to see the setups and meet the people that do the work. You can post your ECU to them and have them upload the map if you prefer.
