Can drive a few days and all ok.
Next day I may push the engine just to give it a wee clean out, then it happens, a large puff of blue smoke,
Can't see behind me with mirror, no noise, no change in power just smoke.
This has only happened 4 or 5 times, had a look over the engine, removed the rubber hose from the intercooler and quite a bit of oil in the hose.
2010 year 60 reg...69k on clock full service history.

Had similar on my 2010 MY. It was a known problem - a turbo drain hose I think. I think it is the second turbo that cuts in about 2800 rpm. This one doesn't get used so much so if the drain hose is blocked or collapsed there is a build up of oil in the turbo which is burnt when you do give it some wellie. My main dealer dealt with it when it was serviced last November.

This was done at Land Rover's expense.

Known issue relating to the oil return pipe from the RH turbo

New pipe fitted along with a blanking plate

Downside is, as you are out of manufacturers warranty, it will likely not be covered, and you will have to pay yourself

Although mine was still in an "approved used" warranty period, my dealer told me the charge for fixing the turbo pipe was not against the warranty but against Landrover directly as it was a known issue. Try to get them to pay!

If it is a recall, it's paid for by JLR

This issue is covered by a TSB to aid diagnostics, and only covered under the manufacturers warranty
Generally, aftermarket warranty companies do not cover "known issues" unless it is the LR Approved Warranty

I have heard of it being covered under goodwill, but in general, it is a chargeable repair

Had exactly the same issue which warranty company rejected today. Turbo drain pipe. Dealer quoted £377 but Disco Mikey suggested that was toppy.

I might wait for you to come to Aberdeen again or book mine in with you DM at ur workshop.

LR also told me today that they would cover the cost of the drain pipe work as per TSB.
My warranty company wouldn't.
