Summer coming up I was thinking of doing this task myself on my sport its coming up to 10 years old and showing signs of age in places. Doing some research on various forums people suggest the dinatrol range over the hammerite waxoyl brand. Their arguments the dinatrol range has better range of slighty different products for different applications eg. inside chassis out side etc. Anyone else with any advise on here used either of these products?

Something I've been considering, been quoted 440 by the company linked above at their Leeds branch and they need vehicle from 9am to 4pm to complete, still undecided Nanocom Evo |

I wax oiled mine in about a hour,,I don't know where they get 440 from,I bought a gallon of wax oil from local motorist shop for about 25 & I did my new navara pickup last March when I bought it new & ive also done my 2012 RRS & ive still got over half a gallon left as it goes a long way & I sprayed it on & gave both vehicles 2 coats.Bring your vehicle to Bridlington & I'll do it for 100.

I am interested in this subject of wax oiling the chassis. Have any of you got before and after pictures of your chassis.

2.5 litres of Waxoyl, to do 2 coats on 2 cars? Doesn't seem like a lot... ![]() |

ISTR using around 12-13 litres on a typical Defender, and 4-5 litres just sealing the seam/sills on my own car... |

It took a couple of gallons to do my last car (Rover 75 Tourer), without sounding off, the amount stated doesn't sound enough to cover one vehicle if all the nooks and crannies are done to. I was allowed to watch the preparation etc and the spraying being done at the specialist at the time. |

I have the clear wax oil but was hard to see where was done & where wasn't so I added a bit of old engine oil to make it black.when you spray it on it does go a long way & I did all the underside of mine.

I seem to remember reading a horror story over on Disco 3 with a guy that had it done and seemingly it was abit of a cowboy job. There was Wax oil everywhere and I do mean everywhere! I'm sure the thread and pics will be over there with a search.

This was the extent of my Waxoyling, both sills and all seams on the body, and a few rough bits on the chassis, and used over 4 litres...

I recently, two weeks ago did the underside of ours. The other half had started it before he had fitted the side steps so I ended up covered in it eventually. So top tip, if doing yourself wear overalls or old clothes cause it can get messy especially if using the black stuff. Three boil washes and it's almost out of my hoodie.
