The dials were outdated green glowing LCD's in May 2005 at the car's launch but that was pretty hi-tech for Land Rover then and most of it came from BMW and Ford anyway as they were the owners of LR up until then! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Yes, almost certainly just a calibration. I presume a full 4 wheel alignment has been carried out? Whilst you're there, make sure the Steering Angle Sensor has been recalibrated too. |

Yeah the 4 wheel alignment was done after the bushes were done. Perhaps they did that but not a ride height calibration? I'll mention that one to them too, thanks! Could the resistant steering be the car not wanting to turn due to thinking it's bottomed out? It seems to be working that way at the moment. Once it raises the front right the steering is normal again. |

Oh and he's sorting me a new key out as well, which will be useful as remote locking only works when the stars are aligned correctly. |

Land rover tech support have sent the workshop some updated calibration files, apparently, so the car should be back tomorrow with a new key fob. All related to the calibration, apparently. Fingers crossed. |

Power steering pump being done too, that'll be the steering resistance then! They couldn't reproduce the steering fault all day until they dropped it back to my house, it's intermittent so I'm glad it happened to them in time.

Turns out some of it was the pump but they've also replaced something to do with a fluid joint. Probably got that completely wrong, it might well be the ace rail that sometimes leaks. Saw another post on this forum about ace rails and the symptoms sounded similar. I'll find out tomorrow when it's finally ready. The steering problems have gone away, and no faults being logged but they're going to drive it again in the morning to check nothing else surfaces. For now they've given me their E class cabriolet to drive round. Not a bad car, wouldn't choose one though. Doesn't do my post-op back and favours either. Nightmare to get in and out of! |

Got it back just now. Feels like a new car. Much smoother to drive, steering easier, less bumpy. It was the dynamic response anti roll bar that needed doing, apparently. New key, calibrated, new height sensor, power steering pump as well. |

Yeah they are good chaps. The list of work they've done to it is mammoth now, and it's driving like a dream |
