I hear the rechargeable battery is a soldering job. Shouldn't be a problem as I work with 2 electronics engineers. They should be able to sort me out.

I've had some great cars, the merc is a thing of speed, beauty and luxury but the Range Rover interior (although the 2008 is outdated), gives a pretty special feeling when paired with the seating position.

The dials were outdated green glowing LCD's in May 2005 at the car's launch but that was pretty hi-tech for Land Rover then and most of it came from BMW and Ford anyway as they were the owners of LR up until then! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

First issue already Laughing The classic invisible obstacle when lowering to access mode. Worked during the test drive, but not after they replaced the front bushes as I noticed yesterday. Car thinks there's an obstacle by the front right wheel, flashing red light on the 4x4 display. Raises to extended nice and quick, and I have to switch back to standard height. The front right then lifts slightly when I start driving and the rest of the journey is on a slight wonk. Until it raises itself, turning right throws a bit of resistance until you get the wheel moving between 20ish - 40ish mpg. Once it's raised the right front side all is well.

Just took it back to where I got it and they're taking it to the workshop to get it sorted. No fuss, no charge. Hopefully a sensor or calibration job rather than a compressor. As it raises into extended and off-road mode nice and easy I'd be surprised if it is a compressor. More likely they knocked something important while doing the front bushes (I hope).

Hoping this is just a quick one for them to iron out, I don't want to be without it for too long!

Yes, almost certainly just a calibration. I presume a full 4 wheel alignment has been carried out? Whilst you're there, make sure the Steering Angle Sensor has been recalibrated too. Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Yeah the 4 wheel alignment was done after the bushes were done. Perhaps they did that but not a ride height calibration? I'll mention that one to them too, thanks! Could the resistant steering be the car not wanting to turn due to thinking it's bottomed out? It seems to be working that way at the moment. Once it raises the front right the steering is normal again.

Not sure really. Could be something geometrical? Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Who knows, there might actually be an obstacle there Very Happy It was good as gold during the test drive though, so I'm pretty sure it'll be a minor thing related to the ARB work.

More impressed by the car every time I drive it other than this current issue. First trip I was staring obsessively at the consumption, 2 days later I couldn't care less. Gets away well at the lights too especially when using command shift. Hadn't tried it since this morning.

Oh and he's sorting me a new key out as well, which will be useful as remote locking only works when the stars are aligned correctly.

Land rover tech support have sent the workshop some updated calibration files, apparently, so the car should be back tomorrow with a new key fob. All related to the calibration, apparently. Fingers crossed.

Power steering pump being done too, that'll be the steering resistance then! They couldn't reproduce the steering fault all day until they dropped it back to my house, it's intermittent so I'm glad it happened to them in time.

This car will be almost rebuilt by the time I get it back!

Turns out some of it was the pump but they've also replaced something to do with a fluid joint. Probably got that completely wrong, it might well be the ace rail that sometimes leaks. Saw another post on this forum about ace rails and the symptoms sounded similar. I'll find out tomorrow when it's finally ready. The steering problems have gone away, and no faults being logged but they're going to drive it again in the morning to check nothing else surfaces. For now they've given me their E class cabriolet to drive round. Not a bad car, wouldn't choose one though. Doesn't do my post-op back and favours either. Nightmare to get in and out of!

Got it back just now. Feels like a new car. Much smoother to drive, steering easier, less bumpy. It was the dynamic response anti roll bar that needed doing, apparently. New key, calibrated, new height sensor, power steering pump as well.

Yeah they are good chaps. The list of work they've done to it is mammoth now, and it's driving like a dream Smile only issue I've got with the car is no Bluetooth audio! But aux will do.
