Could it be that WW are not turning their corporate nose up at the repair but the labour rates charged by a franchised dealer when they would prefer you to go to an Indy who will cost them about 60% less per hour? Did you ask them who their preferred repairer might be?

Yeah, i didnt either BC, but i thought Gudv's Arnold Clark answer was to Tim. Was just trying to clarify what he meant when stated Arnold Clark.

I have no personal involvement with any of the warranty companies but last year I had to help a family member who had understood that the warranty provider allowed repairs to be done anywhere without reference to the warranty company. Unfortunately for the warranty company the "brochure/ flier" mentioned the convenience of getting your local garage to carry out the repairs but when the policy document arrived and I went through the small print it was stated that not only were three estimates for repairs required but that the final quote (note NOT an estimate) had also to be submitted to the warranty company for approval before any work could be carried out. Needless to say I advised the family member to request their premium be repaid as the terms were unreasonable. Fortunately no claim was necessary anyway as the car had not yet been purchased but was in the final stages of purchase. The family member was then left waiting 4 months to get her premium returned and had to sign a non-disclosure note before the money was refunded to her bank account. This was one of the big providers............ And the dealership was also part of the Arnold Clark empire.
I have nothing against AC himself, he lives in the next village to the one I live in and is very philanthropic locally BUT some of the people that are employed by his group are utter cowboys who will sell their granny to get the commission.

In this area of Scotland it has almost got to the stage where you can only buy a Land Rover, Audi, BMW, Fiat or Ford without going to one of the numerous AC outlets - they operate all the Renault/Dacia/Nissan/Toyota/Mazda/ VW (not under the AC banner though)/ Vauxhall (again in disguise as Ian Greive Vauxhall) / Chevrolet/ Lexus and several other big brands. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

A lot of warranty claims are also dependant upon careful wording of said claims Thumbs Up

An honest review there Tim.

We bought our RRS from AC in Edinburgh - The Fiat one.
Apart from taking us down too early to view the car - not clean etc etc, their service has been great so far! Thank god!
We also took out Autocare with them after checking the small print and they have been fine with one claim down for around £800. They deal with Peter Vardy here in Aberdeen direct for payment etc via OneLink.

I can't fault them to date. But have heard some horror stories about AC in general. I did tread very carefully when approaching the deal as i wasn't sure myself of their reputation.

I'm undergoing another claim at the moment - car booked in for the 9th May so we'll see how the second one goes. Fingers crossed! 2015 RRS AB SDV6, Fuji White, Ivory

Ahem, I used to work for AC. For 3 weeks Laughing

I wouldn't buy a car from them, nor would I take it to an AC dealer for a repair...

Just as well I won't need to Mikey. All Autocare work will be done via Thirdparty. Honestly I havnt had any probs with the edinburgh branch, but I have heard quite a few things about them. Thumbs Up 2015 RRS AB SDV6, Fuji White, Ivory
