Great 'how to' Harry. Spot on. Thumbs Up
So you retrofitted all oem parts by the looks of it. I've seen after market kits for this too.

Sounds ideal to have remote for sure, although I'd settle for timed right now.

Disco_mikey are you up around Aberdeen any time soon?

Showing my ignorance now, but does the L494 have a Webesto heater?

Only if you specify timed and remote climate unfortunately. This is why I parted with 1k for L494 as I knew I won't be able to retrofit and enable this myself like I did for my MY13. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

I fitted the LR received and antenna with no problems but you do need an IID Tool or similar to activate it. It really is fabulous. I found the timed climate less useful because I often didn't know what time I would be leaving home but if you remember the clipper 30 minutes in advance of the journey car is lovely and warm. I always wanted to have it parked in a row of iced up cars and fire it up, then take a photo showing it to be the only vehicle that was thoroughly de-iced, but didn't get the chance. Big Cry Now sold 2010 TDV8 Santorini black, lots of extras and best car I ever owned, and there's been a few. I will be back.

I came back with an L405 FFRR

^^^ You're sad Laughing I agree it is great and they seem to have improved it even further and in L494 ... 10 minutes or sometimes even less makes the cabin very welcoming when it is bitterly cold outside. I also use remote only as my car usage isn't at specific times of the day. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Yeah eventually may fit the remote. My days are pretty regimented so I guess timed should be ok. Out of interest what range does the remote have?

I love the fact that I don't have to scrap ice from the Windows like my neighbours do on a frosty morning! Best mod I ever made, enjoying a brew while its doing its thing. Super easy to fit receiver and antenna, activate and pair the remotes too. Cheers Fawad for selling me your old parts Thumbs Up

I'm not sure on the exact range but it seems to work on mine from a huge distance! Laughing 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

I went to a family reunion, at a hotel in Brentwood. We all stayed the night. In the morning on way to breakfast,i looked out to car park and saw everything was covered in heavy frost. I flipped the plipper and went to breakfast. After which we went to put luggage in cars. Everyone was busy scraping windows. My windows were perfectly clean, and on openning doors felt the warmth come out. Able to just jump in and drive off, in warm cab. itisme

Just to finish this thread off nicely.
Disco Mikey enabled timed climate yesterday and kindly fitted the remote kit bought from Bodsy. All working and very impressed. Heats up car on cold chilly mornings in Scotland with a touch of a button.
