Hdc system fault

Hello I am new Owner of a Range Rover sport it is a 2008 tdv8 covered about 115k I have owned the car for 2 months now and never really done much long distance driving i only use the car for pottering around town the car is great with no faults or malfunctions but after about 10 miles of driving I have a few messages that pop up on the dash that say car leans when cornering, hdc system fault special programmes unavailable, suspension lowered. Turn the car on and off and all is happy again for another 10 miles but it only does it after continuasly driving has anyone else experienced this? And what could be causing this fault. I have been reading on the Internet and I can only find battery and break lights/light switch could this apply to my fault codes? It has been in the garage but they can't seem to put there finger on it any help would be great

Thanks mat

After trying a fee things other owners have listed in many many forums and threads mine took a gamble and some further investigation....

can you do something... put the steering wheel dead centre then have a look at your screen and tell me if the system shows the steering of the car to be dead on or not?

When the wheel is dead central the 4x4 info on the screen in the middle of the car shows the wheel dead straight aswell

I had this issue last year... it was the battery. Banged a new one in and all the warning lights just vanished. Have you tried charging your battery fully? It'll be getting hammered with the current cold weather, especially if you're only making short trips.

I had this issue with mine - It was fine when starting up and driving in a straight line, but as soon as I turned the first corner, i.e steering input, then I would also get the warning lights HDC disabled etc, and all the toys (Cruise Control, suspension height and mode etc) were disabled.
Took it into LR dealer and he said the battery had gone flat (it had been sitting for weeks without starting) at some point.
He said there is a sensor in the roof which determines the direction the car is travelling (i.e directly forward), and another sensor in the steering wheel which determines the steering input, (I think the idea is, if the two sensors don't match, then it thinks the car is understeering so it adjusts the power output to the wheel) - anyways, becasue the battery went flat, these sensors needed re-calibration. They did that and I haven't had a problem since. 2006 Range Rover Sport 4.2 s/c with Arden bodykit

this is a good sign.

The usual suspects as said are rear bulbs and brake light switch also some say weak battery and brake sensors or angle sensors.

hdc fAult from my experience comes up when the car thinks there is an issue with the brakes or the alignment steering and yaw sensor which is as the above post says something to do with the direction and geometry of cars travel also called lateral sensor.

Best place to pick a new battery up is from the Tayna website. Use the discount code D2BOYS for an extra 5% off. If you order today it will be with you tomorrow.

I believe that you will need a 017 model of battery. The Exide Premium is a popular choice over on the Disco Forum.

Thanks for all your response and advice I changed the break light switch today as it was only cheap to do and it still come up with the same faults as before, when I took the break light switch apart it was black in side like I saw on a recent post so looks like it needed doing soon anyway, I have got the car booked in Tuesday to go have its 4 wheel alignment done and sensors re calabratied hopefully this will cure it if not I am ticking my way down the list to find the issue

Maybe all bulbs only a 2 more each side and as you go from park to drive you pass through reverse so that bulb gets power maybe worth trying for a few pounds can always keep as spare ... saw osram on ebay about 2.50 a pair.

also when you have the 4x4 display up are there any hight sensors flashing or do any sensors look like they are sitting higher than the others ?
