With such short journies I would say go for the V8 petrols. Diesels prefer longer steady RPM runs without lots of gearchnages/ rev changes to achieve better economy. Also if you go for any diesel RRS built after 2013 then you get a DPF that has to be able to regenerate and that is achieved over a twenty minute stint at higher than normal rpm which is a speed over about 45mph....... not a lot of use in the Channel Islands. 4.2V8's will be getting a bit elderly now so a 5ltr V8 form around facelift time for RRS1 (2010MY to 2013MY) if you don't want a new car or an L494 5.0V8 Autobiograhy if you don't mind spending 87000 on a new car 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Totally agree - DPF filters tend to "clog up" with lots of short journeys at lower speeds.

Thank you both for the great advice, the 5 litre supercharged was my preferred option, so you have made my day 👍🏻

Petrol is definitely the best option, but absolutely wasted! Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

If you're spending over 20k you should look at a 6.0 Bentley continental GT. I've had one before... Ducking cracking car, I mean amazing. Cheap now aswell, I've seen them for 17'500 |

Is there any major benefits with the 2012 RRS compared to the 2009 - 2011 Supercharged or is it just the powered tailgate? |

Don't know about the changes in spec but would go for as new as pos and lowest mileage as long as it's been serviced unless you are going for something special.. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

What would you consider as low mileage? Less than 50k miles or less than 80k miles? |

Rule of thumb would be average annual mileage for UK is between 10.000 and 12000 miles, anything significantly below or above that would count as below average or above average. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
