Got an BMW E93 at the mo but with a new born on the way in the new year looking to maybe go down the RRS route as I've always loved then. The forum looks good so thought I would join up to get a better overview of all things ranger rover related.

Belgium 2013 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Aintree Green
New member

Hello,

I'm Pierre from Belgium and just collected last friday my RRS MY 2016 from my dealer. It's a TDV6 HSE in aintree green. Lovely and very good ride (till now...). Very low fuel consumption. It's my first RR, I had a Disco series 2 for 9 years (which I still miss BTW). I'll post a foto if anyone is interested, it seems green RRS are rare in Belgium (they are mostly black). I have two small technical questions which I will post later, but I will first read the rest of the posts...
Till later

Pierre

Evening,

Looking forward to collecting my RRS 2011 Stormer on Thursday. Currently in an Audi A4 3.0 Quattro, but previously owned a Defender and Disco2. Very excited about my first venture into RRS world though and hope to learn a lot (and possibly contribute over time) on the forum.

Jud.

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Hi folks,

Picked up my first RRS (first ever LR even) on Saturday, only covered 20 miles or so, but already very impressed! Apart from a flickering rev counter needle backlight, which I first noticed on Saturday evening, everything seems to be working well Wink A full year's warranty was included, so will no doubt be going back to the shop to get it fixed at some point.
Hope to learn a few things on here as well as contribute, as I'm fairly handy with a spanner and techie type things- although the technology on these 'new fangled' cars is getting somewhat ahead of my abilities!!

cheers
Simon

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Rimini Red

Hi all

Just signed up for a 2013 (old shape) SDV6 with only 4000 miles on the clock.

From a main thief, but worth it for the 2 year warranty.

Had P38's in the past and regular use of an older L322 vogue.

Really looking forward to getting it, but first job is a remap to make it a little more interesting 😎 Will be going down the tuning box route to protect the warranty!

When you say "remap", but then "tuning box", am I right to assume you mean a remap interface from the likes of BAS and Alive Tuning etc.? Question

If you mean a plug and play tuning box, then please don't! Exclamation Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK

Thanks Lostfor!

I concur with the idea of staying clear of 'piggy-back' style tuning boxes from the research I've done in the past. However, a friend of mine has a thing called a P-Box on his BMW 1 series and it goes like stink! I think the MPG is pretty good too. It was recommended to him by a proper outfit who do Vauxhall & BMW tuning. I'd still avoid them though, just my two penneth...
Had my 2003 BMW X5 3.0D remapped just after I bought it, and that made a noticeable difference to both power and improved mpg (32-33 overall). Does smoke like a pile of burning tyres if you clog it though Wink

cheers
Simon

Yes, they can work well, but one core issue, for instance, is if the ECU detects a fault and limits fuel etc. to prevent damage, the box will still be causing false readings, so you loose any safety net. Exclamation Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
