Would you say the AB is worth the extra over an HSE? I love my current HSE but I need to convince myself I'm not missing out on anything. Laughing

I believe (and I may be wrong) that HSE stands for High Spec Edition. That was certainly true for RRS1 but for RRS2 I have to ask LR: "high" compared to what? It's not just the deletion of SE making HSE now the "basic" model but more importantly the absence of features that were standard in L320 HSE. In fact even my AB doesn't have things as standard that were standard on older HSEs (e.g. timed climate, dual view, TV) Rolling Eyes I don't mean any offence to you or any other HSE owners, I just can't help but compare to my previous Sports and can't ignore these differences. This is why I keep repeating that last of RRS1 were superb value for money and to get to the same spec in RRS2 (albeit with other new and improved things) there is a massive price jump.

Whether AB is worth the extra or not depends on individual circumstances. I wanted proper TR and low range gear box. Not because I off-road but having been stuck on ice covered with 6 inches of snow on a steep incline and low range gearbox rescuing me out of this situation without me getting out of the car, I ruled out plain HSE in RRS2. It was my inexperience and may have been able to get unstuck without low range but that's the whole point of these tools - to help you even when you don't know what you're doing Laughing Anyway my starting point was HSE Dynamic for the above reasons, which narrows the price gap. Then I fancied 2 tone seats which at least until order time were not available in HSE Dyn. Sliding pano and contrast roof are £2,500 worth of extras that were no cost on AB. 18 way seats for "free" are also useful. Upgrades to Meridian sound and nicer wheels weren't important to me but are to most people.

In short, if you are not interested in the toys that AB offers for free it would be stupid to spend the extra just to get the badge IMHO. On the other hand if you find yourself adding options to HSE or HSE D that bring it closer to AB in spec but don't offer a return at resale time it makes sense to go for AB. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Out of interest, how have you found the massage seats? That was something I considered but in the end haven't gone for, I've never found a massage seat yet that feels relaxing!

I love them, you can select the intensity of the massage as well as whether you want it in the bottom of your back or the full length of your back, plus you get the extra movement in the seat back for a better fit 👍

this is exactly why I went for the HSE wasnt bothered about the dynamic setting and the extras I wanted I would have had to pay extra for on the autobiography. I wanted the all black interior and a fixed pan roof so it just made sense to me to get the HSE with the low range as an option. Having drove the car now I am glad I didn't get the dynamic as I know I wouldn't have used it and I don't think the car really needs it. All just my opinion by the way 2008 Factory HST- Sold

Cheers for the reply fkarim it sounds like the AB was the right choice for you. I ant say I'm too bothered about two tone seats or the dynamic pack, so the HSE is probably best for me, off the top of my head I was thinking...

Aruba with black panoramic roof
Colour coded side sills etc
Ebony/Ivory with Piano Black trim
Full size spare
Blind spot monitoring
Heated steering wheel
Privacy glass
Mudflaps

Spec is quite similar to the current car so HSE is probably the way to go, I'll make my own thread once it's all be confirmed. Thumbs Up Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more... Twisted Evil

Gone but not forgotten:
2014 RRS2 SDV6 HSE in Loire Blue
2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE in Santorini Black

In the above spec apart from blank pano roof, colour coded side sills and heated steering wheel (I personally don't care much about colour coding and heated steering TBH but that's me), everything else would be extra cost on AB too so I agree with your thinking of getting HSE again.

For me it had to have dynamic mode as I used it quite often in the 2013 car. Transforms the handling completely.

I forgot about Adaptive Cruise Control and Forward Alert: I didn't have these on my previous cars and wanted this time. Come as standard on AB and work really well!

Also can't recommend blind spot monitoring, closing vehicle sensing and reverse traffic detection highly enough. All are optional extras on AB but I am glad I added these. Great safety features and prevent you from dangerous mistakes. Again, work very well.

I will start a separate thread about likes and dislikes plus comparison with the previous Sport once I have gathered more data in my head. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

A few more photos of mine. For anyone debating the privacy glass I am very happy that I went without. I was going for a much more classic understated look than some of the other cars on here and I think it came out great. I did pick up some blinds from the dealer that slot into the side windows on the one day of the year that the sun shines and the kids want to watch the tvs but the rest of the time aesthetically I think it looks better without. The red brembos and 21 inch wheel just add a little interest and the almond and espresso goes great with Loire blue.

At what point is it exceptible to lose it at the dealers ?
Car should have been picked up on Friday noon . Car not ready as the transfer of the retention would not go through . Phoned dvla and they think the dealer is a dumbo . Put new car insurance on hold . Went to see the dealer today just to see the car and check all is well . There are Seven outstanding items so the car is not ready at all .
It was at this point I drove away , I wish the car was not payed in full as I would enjoy them chasing me for payment when it is ready and the shoe is well and truly on the other foot .

Unacceptable (dealer's behaviour - not you losing it). It would have been nicer (though still not good) had they told you the truth that it isn't ready from THEIR side rather than BS about reg transfer etc. I know nothing about the processes involved with private plates but it does sound like that wasn't the issue in the first place. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Anyone else noticed the fuel tank sloshing problem yet? Been discussed here: http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic38498.html

Sad to report my car has it. With fuel slightly above the half-way mark and no kids or music in the car I could easily hear it when going over speed humps. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

Yes the dealer did it. Too early to say whether it is worthwhile/works but with two young boys and cream seats I figured it couldn't hurt Smile

I'll update in time.

Does anyone have a build date this week? My dealer tells me my car should go into build by the end of this week (week ending 18th Sept), with delivery to the dealer around 9th October. That's a painfully long wait. Has anybody else with a build date this week been given a rough delivery date?

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Did you spec AHBA?
If it is any consolation mine was built 19/20th March this year and was ready for handover on 28th March, so I think your build completion to delivery isn't too bad. There could be a component that cannot be fitted so it will be in "hold" at the factory which is why I asked if you specced High Beam Assist as we know that there have been issues with cars fitted with it 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
