Air Conditioning

I am uncertain about the operation of the air conditioning in my RRS and wondered whether anyone else had experienced something similar.

It would appear that after the system has been running for about 10 minutes, it continually blows out hot air even when set at the lowest setting of 16C.

This morning I went out with a digital thermometer and with the interior temperature recorded at 20C and the air con set at 16C it was still heating.

The only way it seems to produce cool air is when it is set to the blue mark, which is fine on a very hot day if you just want cold air.

I think that there may be a fault with the thermostat, but would welcome any advice or comments before I take it to my dealer. RRS 2.7 TDV6 SE Cairns Blue/Alpaca Leather

Tim,

You might be right, I think this could be a problem your dealer needs to deal with, doesn't sound like its operating normally.

Let us know what happens. L319 D4 HSE

have you got the econ button pressed in as it does make a difference, if you have, turn it off and see if you get cool air.

Thanks for the advice Andrew,

I have already tried that and sadly it seems to make little difference.

Have had mine back for a similar problem except it was the other way round cold air out of the windscreen vents when temp set to hot.
It was cured by reseting the blend motors for the heater. Its out there somewhere. Second V10 Treg on the drive at the moment.

Mine went to the dealer yesterday and they have ordered a replacement `interior temepature sensor' (thermostat to you & me).

I will report the outcome when it's fitted next week. RRS 2.7 TDV6 SE Cairns Blue/Alpaca Leather

Hi Biggles , I seem to have the same issue. Using the heater , I have cool air coming out of the small vents above the controllable vents (does this make sense ?) . Is this the same issue that you had , if it was what was the solution and was it a long job at the dealers ?

Over this past very cold weekend I wasn't sure that my heating was working quite as well as it should - the car did get warm eventually, but I had to manually set the temp, air direction and whack the fan speed right up. Using the auto function was next to useless. Another teething issue with the car, I suppose... no doubt sorted for next year's cars.

I was back at the dealer this morning to have the new interior temperature sensor fitted - apparantly it was only after the third order attempt that the part was finally received.

Hopefully the problem has now been cured................but watch this space. RRS 2.7 TDV6 SE Cairns Blue/Alpaca Leather
