Nope, it's back! I've checked the cable for wearing through, I've checked the connectors and all seems fine.

Starting to get a bit disheartened with the new purchase now, and I've not had it a month yet. Crying or Very sad Current: Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE in Stornoway Grey

Yeah, battery at rest is 12.6V and when running is 14.1V according to the maintenance page when you do the "753 hack" on the centre screen - one of the pages there gives battery voltages. Although I did have a battery operated pump on all 4 tyres over the weekend and afterwards the "low battery - start engine" alert showed on the dash. Current: Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE in Stornoway Grey

That sounds OK. Though, you'll get a slightly more accurate reading directly from the battery. Thumbs Up

Have you checked the pink 30A fuse in the Battery Junction Box?

I wouldn't rule the switch out yet either.

No, I haven't checked the fuse as the EPB "seems" to work properly, with the alarm only coming on occasionally. The switch "seems" fine, as it puts the EPB on or off properly, and when the alarm is flashing, using the switch (either on or off) clears the alarm. I can maybe check the fuse tonight, or over the weekend, and I'll also put a meter on the battery too.

Thanks for the pointers so far! Thumbs Up Current: Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE in Stornoway Grey

Was the EPB warning apparent before, or only after the new alternator? If the latter, what's it outputting and was it Genuine/OE (Denso) or aftermarket?

Have you checked the brake bulbs? (In practise, this means replaced, with high quality bulbs, to be sure.)

Any other symptoms? Can you give a full sequence of events?

Thanks for the reply....denso alternator done a year ago before new engine fitment, hdc fault appeared after service a few months ago along with epb fault never replaced bulbs ...surprised to see hdc fault never come on yesterday as I get it 6 times in 70 miles of travelling usually above 60 mph.stopped pulled on epb and light started flashing then epb malfunction and no brakes.

When you say "no brakes"...? Shocked

I would think a wiring fault is probably likely, but I think your "tea leaves" might need reading. Always worth checking voltages etc. first though, even if they should be OK. Thumbs Up

As you've been travelling at speed when the HDC fault appears, I do also wonder about the possibility of the Steering Angle Sensor being at fault - Did it trigger full lowering etc.? Not sure it would fit in well with the EPB fault though.

Stop using it now, or you'll end up needing a new module. It needs adjusting as per Bodsy's Brake Bible: http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/use...ssPics.pdf Thumbs Up Visiting from DISCO3.CO.UK
