Hi I am having exactly same fault slight rattle can only describe it like a rattle chirping noise at random ranges car drives fine no fault codes just a very slight dip In revs when the noise happens I have had 3 mechanics look at it and not one can put finger on it one tho thinks possible sticky clutch bearing !!! In gearbox ?.. Mine won't do it from cold only after about five minutes ?.. Cannot be heard with windows shut but do see a very slight dip on rev counter |

Hi sportyboy. That's for your comment. Sounds exactly the same issue. Funny u mention from cold. I have it to a mechanic yesterday & we realised it doesn't happen when cold. It's a strange one. My concern is the fact it effects the revs. I'm hoping it's not a fault around the timing area! I thought someone would nail this one straight away. Mines going into workshop next Monday. |

Well mine is due a timing belt but can't see it's that as it would so it all the time mine won't make the noise if I rev the engine stationary please keep me posted and all the best on a cheap fix |

Check the live values. Possibly oil temp sensor. That causes the engine to stall and be erratic due to the changing fuelling strategy. Bodsys Brake Bible

Hi folks. Still no feckin joy. The mechanic is scratching his head. I've even noticed one up for sale with a reduced price because the guy has the same fault. I'm not giving up tho. The lad looking at it is away until next Tuesday & is taking another look. |

Hi folks. Still no resolve. I had g.box flushed & added Dr. Tranny. Had all pulleys & rollers & belts checked. Still none the wiser. It is such an irritating noise. I'm surprised no one has a solution as I've seen numerous RR for sale with this fault. i.e. It's obviously common. Gonna try a ford forum to see if they have had any experience. |
