i think the 7p charge must be for refrigerant ( gas ) to recharge the system, AC systems are rated by weight of refrigerant 2010 RRS, TDV8

The first post asks about condenser change and the quote is for a compressor change. Which is it? 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

I think a stone would be the least likely to cause damage, the condenser is basically built the same as a radiator, it will suffer from age, corrosion and also vibration issues which can cause fractures in the welded seams / joints. These are normally not visible to the naked eye unless its had some obvious physical damage, only way to test them is to pressure test, normally with nitrogen and use a soapy solution to check all joints. 2010 RRS, TDV8
