RRSPORT 2011

Just bought 2011 sport. First ever. Stuck trying to connect iphone to audio via USB connection.phone charges but it's not being recognised a s a portable device. Garage is saying I need the landrover iPod lead to play music. Is this correct? Or should I be able to play music via USB connection.

Cheers. The technician said my car needs a LR cable. But I felt he was trying to just sell me a lead.
So what is the point of the USB ? Is it solely for charging? Or are there other uses? I do t have a DVD player. I guess you can put songs on a USB stick and okay them. Just seems weird that you cant connect your iPhone for music across the USB.

WELCOME Bow down

If same as MY10 you will have a usb socket and long iPod socket under centre box lid. You need a special lead for iPod and to play music from iphone Thumbs Up

You can put music on memory stick to play through usb socket Very Happy

Hi.
Just bought a 2011 RRS HSE. This may be a stupid question but the touch screen only shows AUX not Portable Media. How do I connect my iPhone to play music? Is there a Bluetooth option? What is the USB for, it charges the phone but nothing else. I don't have a LR lead to plug in and try. I tried a data stick in the USB, that didn't do anything either.

Help!!

Thanks.

Thanks Rob.
On the touch screen audio video home menu my RRS doesn't have the portable audio option. It has AUX in its place. When you press AUX nothing happens (with USB data stick or iPhone plugged in).
Does this change when the LR data lead is connected?

The manual is less than clear.

I should say I have both sockets in the cubby box (in the lid above the cool box).
The USB powers (charges) my iPhone when connected. But nothing else happens.

All fixed now. Sent back into supplying dealer. It turned out to be a glitch in the software.
All works as it should now.
