You need to find an indie. I had the O/S/F shaft replaced in December at an indie and it was £198.85 for the part, £72.50 to fit. Plus VAT, of course. They only charged me £14.50 + VAT labour to fit rear brake pads. LR would have charged well over £100 plus the ridiculous mark-up they charge on the pads themselves. Unless we vote with our feet, LR and its dealership franchise holders won't listen to us. If we want them to up their game then we have to take our ball away - if you'll excuse the mixed metaphor! My next service, due in a few weeks, will be at the indie. I shall also be asking them to do some other work which I think was missed by the LR dealership at previous services (flexible brake pipes and auxiliaries belt). 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |
