At the time (Jan 2011) it was a 3 year old TDV8 HSE 33k on the clock with lots of lovely options such as dynamic control, adaptive headlights, heated steering wheel, leather upgrade etc... and i adored it. It was a peach to drive and was a truly lovely car to own and be proud of,

A car with a German badge just indicates your an a hole with no taste. Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more...

I hope it's German and under 3 years old or it might be out of the frying pan and into the fire! |

My A4 was a pile of crap. It spent more time in the garage than on the road.

Yeah, I had a C Class that I had to get rid of due a gearbox electrical fault that couldn't be diagnosed (cost me plenty trying to though!). Then there was the Boxster & 996 IMS catastrophe.

Basically if you want risk free motoring either buy a car with lots of original warranty or a Ford Focus.[/quote]. The focus is certainly not without fault |

My neighbour has one from 1999, so one of the originals. She's had it since new and apparently never broken down. Probably worth peanuts now but excellent cars, especially for the money. Arrived: MY16 A/B SDV6 in Aruba, Ivory interior, piano black trim, black panoramic roof, spare wheel, blind spot monitoring, mudlaps and more...

True, a lot of it comes down to luck. My point was that it's a German built car that won't thrown up bills in the thousands |

My Golf lunched its gearbox at 66k miles. Just out of warranty. VW did put help out with the cost but it still cost me about £1500 for a new gearbox. The so called "reliable" Golf... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |
