Tdv8 - Engine system failure - limp mode

Hi chaps,
Hoping someone can help me please.
2007 RRS TDV8 in limp mode and sounding lumper than normal (not smoking)

Codes read as P132b and P138e

cleared codes and restarted and sounded normal again but threw ! Message(engine system failure) and back to limp mode and lumpy as soon as I pulled away.

Mate has checked actuator arms and in his words they are both free as a bird! (Moving them manually)

Have left turbo replaced 5000 miles ago and mechanic checked right one over and said there wasn't anything wrong with it.

Any thoughts?

Cheers
Barry

Those error codes (they're not complete LR codes as they are missing two numbers at the end) indicate turbo boost issues.

They both refer to the right hand turbo.

You need to get the full LR DTC code read to help pin down the exact issue but I bet it's the actuator that's the problem. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

A split turbo hose will also log turbo codes Thumbs Up

Useful to know, thanks Thumbs Up

Would be nice for the OP if it's something as simple as a split hose... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Really hoping so. Mate said he couldn't hear any 'hissing' though.
When last turbo went it went with a pop and luckily switched off in time. This is still running, so if it is turbo, there are different ways that they can fail?

Same fault flagged up on my tdv6, and cars gone into limp mode.
Had it read by a snap on scanner, didnt really say much,
So booked it in with a local land rover specialist.
Hope it something as a broken hose or similar and not the turbo.

Ended up being my alternator, so check that 1st.
Slightest voltage drop will make the car go into limp mode

actuators on the turbos could be seized, u can access them from underneath, spent time with wd40 and moving the actuator rod up and down.

I had that fault code last year and cured the problem.

Thumbs Up
