Yeah, tried that. You can feel that its trying to grip, but doesn't, so I'm presuming the teeth have worn.

You can get go the screws behind the tweeter, I can't remember if you need to take door panel off to get to the electrical plug but I'm sure one of our grown ups will be along shortly to remind us. Have no idea what the part number is but there are bound to be on eBay. Disco and Sport mirrors are the same 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

It is easier to remove the door panel as you will not be able to remove the tweeter speaker assembly With out breaking the plastic lugs.it is only held on with 2 plastic lugs and 2 very thin plastic legs which are housed behind the door card. To remove the screws you will be better to remove the door card. Once this has been done you can remove the mirror. The mirror can actually be stripped down easily once you remove the mirror housing cover ( outer colour coded part ) you will see the electric motor wiring etc. |

You could try squirting WD40 in the general direction of the mechanism before stripping it down. Worked for me when I had a Disco 4 with one mirror not opening. |

It's because it's milder...the slight lubrication will be more fluidic. |

If it's a 55 plate it will have to be done manually via pressing the mirror adjuster down when it's set in the middle position.
