Passenger side rear brake light not working

I've checked the bulb and the fuse and all is ok, the other brake lights work fine, checked the connections and wiring revealed by removing the light cluster but no obvious signs of damage or deterioration Big Cry

Any suggestions Question

Cheers guys Thumbs Up

Try another bulb in its place first. Very common for brake bulbs to fail Thumbs Up

Cheers Mikey ill give that a try and report back, I'll use the brake bulb from the opposite side as a test, I swapped it for an old Discovery bog standard bulb which didn't work, went for the easy option Embarassed

Will update for the future of anyone else with the same issue

Thumbs Up

Can you swap the clusters side for side to see if the problem is up range or down range?

Had some work done recently on the same side, seized rear calliper, is that just a coincidence?

Bought brand new replacement bulbs, swapped out both sides and made no difference, any ideas where the fault is?

Hate to admit it but I was changing the wrong bulb Embarassed this is what happens when you try to check the brake lights on your own and its the first time ive removed the tail light covers on this type of car.

Anyway, its still a head scratcher - I replaced both bulbs, the drivers side was a pain in the backside to turn into its locking position, it did eventually click into place but doesn't seem as bright as the passenger side Question

Even though I bought the more expensive GE bulbs I think the 2x metal connection points need sanding back a bit to enable a better connection and smoother locking motion, has anyone experienced this before Question

Cheers, Sean

Sorted by sanding the connections on the new bulbs to ensure a better fitment

I think you'll find that you had fitted bulb the wrong way round which is why it was difficult to fit, also explained the dim brake light, no doubt you had a very bright side light Thumbs Up 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current
