When it costs less than £85 to fill up then we are back to 2008. I found my first tax disc for TD8 the other day, £175 from March 07 to Feb 08. Big Cry Big Cry 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

Happy New year to you all and hope 2015 is a good year for you.

I tend to agree with earlier posts that Road Fund License should be paid through fuel duty. The more you use the roads the more you pay. However, what would be the added tax on fuel? A penny ain't gonna cut it. The government isn't going to give free give aways, would 10p on litre be acceptable to joe public?
If, for the sake of counting, you filled 60 litres 30 times a year (dunno if that's average?) at 10p that's £180. I would be happy with that. Disco_Mikey might not be though at 30k a year though Wink . 2016 L494 SDV6 HSE Dynamic Carpathian Grey

I'm spending about £650/month on diesel at the moment to do 2500 miles/month in my TDV8. Yes, most cars would be cheaper to run but... Rolling with laughter

Whilst I quite like the idea of VED on the fuel, it would get quite pricey for me at that rate.

Of course, if the Gov't were serious about their desire to get people to use more efficient cars then it would make sense to add VED to fuel as it would make fuel efficiency even more economically desirable. However, if Gov't were successful and we all drove hybrids or electric cars then they'd have to put up income tax to make up the shortfall from fuel and VED taxes. Whatever scheme is used, Gov't still needs to bring in £100s of billions from somewhere to fund the NHS, education etc. We will all pay the same amount so how it's done is moot really. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
