My 2007MY TdV8 was the first customer's car to be fitted with the mass dampers and that was done on 5 Nov 2009. New build cars had them fitted later.
A 2007 build car would not have had them from new and they would only have been fitted if a customer complained about knocking. Not all cars knocked so not all earlier cars have had them retrofitted.

Hope this helps.

Well that's interesting. Mine has them fitted so I guess a previous owner must have complained.

I think they need the body lifting to fit them so might not be a DIY job... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Fair enough. Not sure I'd be wanting to unbolt the body from the chassis on my driveway but good luck with it! Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

you don't have to the blocks just bolt to the chassis , they don't do anything apart from stop the sound , the holes are already in the chassis 2007 SUPERCHARGED HST

I think the blocks sit over the chassis rails and the bolts just locate them. They are free swinging when in place - that's how they work. In order to get them in you'd need to lift the rear of the body to give clearance. At least, that was my understanding from previous discussions about these blocks.

Edit: I think there are two types. There are some at the rear of the vehicle that wrap over the chassis and then there are those that bolt to the chassis somewhere else. I think we've been talking about different blocks! My apologies. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Hi,any thought on my knock! I replaced the lower wishbones but I still have the same knock, the car rides without noise and can go up speed bumps without noise, but if the wheels go down into a pot hole or man hole lid the front end makes a cluck, I've had it back to garage that replaced the wishbones but they said there no play on any joints that would make this sound, could it be the mass damper, will these be fitted to my 05 supercharger ? having recently replaced the spare wheel winch myself and with a knocking car driving me mad and garage bills coming round before you can blink I'm considering fitting these myself question

in offroad height will i have enough access to get under and do what simply looks like align damper and bolt in place
secondly is it really that easy Laughing
do you have to remove the undertray to do this and I've googled mass damper kit but can't seem to find it anywere is it a landrover only job to get the parts

I'm starting to think after 3 months of owning this car i had better get more confident with a spanner or deeper pockets Big Cry Big Cry

If you look at the pictures on page 1 of this thread which I posted some years back, you can see the bolts which hold each damper in place.
