United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red

The problem started when I had the old discs and pads on that's why I changed them thinking they were the problem. I did notice though I when I first started investigating the problem after fitting the new discs that my bottom calliper pin was stuck in. Could this have ruined the new discs?

Just set off back home and the first 20mile of driving on normal roads as soon as we have got on mway where I'm using brakes more and a little higher speeds the wobble has started again!!
Seems to point to the brakes again as only seems to do it when they are warm and under more load
Going to bite the bullet and but a new set of discs and pads
Any suggestions on brand and is it worth doing the v8 upgrade which lr parts are offering for £219? (New caliper holders, discs, pads and sensors)

Check calipers first as you may have a seized one that causing the heat.
Genuine front discs and pads always...... 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

I did have a seized caliper bottom pin when I checked them before but I think the discs are just shagged!!
Use duckworths? Then simple?

If the caliper pin is stuck, then you can give them a real good clean and as long as they are not pitted, should be fine with some hi temp silicon grease. DON'T use copper grease on the calliper pins as they get sticky and will cause you a bigger problem.

If the caliper pistons are difficult to push back in, then it could be you have a caliper sticking as well.

The V8 front and rear upgrade is a very worth while update IMHO (unless you have the brembo setup already)

If you go that route, then you will get new caliper carriers anyway, so the sliding pin shouldn't be an issue as they should come with new pins already greased up (check first though just to be sure!)

Follow the link in my sig for the replacement of brake pads disks carriers etc. The only difference for the V8, is that you swap over the caliper carrier instead of replacing it with the existing one.

Sponsor Advanced Factors do a V8 upgrade kit as well. Thumbs Up

Worthwhile checking your parking brake shoes as well whilst you're doing the rest. Even if it's just to copperslip the moving metal bits. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

just for info, I went with LR genuine disks and pads and have used aftermarket pads on genuine disks with no problem. my personal experience is that the aftermarket disks aren't as good as the LR disks. Whether that is perception or a technical reality, but I found the LR disks more stable when 'heavy braking' Whistle Bodsys Brake Bible

no, I doubt that's the problem. It shouldn't affect the wobbling. Have you taken the disks back off, wire brushed all the contact points on the hub, then replaced it all? Bodsys Brake Bible

Yes done all that, the weird thing is on my way home from London today I got the hdc fault code thrown up with the various orange suspension light, traction light and handbrake light under the temp gauge, I haven't had time to pull off and reset with key, but very weirdly the car is braking fine with no steering wobble and honestly the brakes feel the best they have ever been
Any ideas???

Bodsy can't seem to find the v8 upgrade on advanced factors found the brembo discs and pads at £145 which look a good price
