If its that easy to detach just take it off when you're not using it. RRS P460e

HI, When not I use I do detach it - the problem is when you have something on it like a bike rack or trailer. Once parked up it is so easy to steal the item attached to it. This is the part I am finding frustrating. |

Hi Photo as taken at about the same angle as the Land Rover brochure. You will notice the silver 'ring'. this is the pull tab for the 'lock' . Pull this and then pull the big locating pin from the other side.

Looks like LR are keeping all accessories like lights, spare wheels, grills and now tow bars readily removable.....

The tow ball isn't the only part though. There is a sub frame that has to be added behind the bumper surround.
