Dipped beam too low.

Hello folks.

Got the vehicle a couple of weeks ago (2011 RRS 3.0) and love the thing. However, when driving back up from St.Andrews last night, it became very apparent that the dipped beam was not sufficiently high to allow me to see the road ahead as I should.

I cannot find anyway of altering the lights from within the cabin and I can't find anything within the users guide.

Pardon the pun but can anybody cast some light on this for me as how to raise the level of the lights?

Thank you,

Colin.

It will need to be checked / adjusted at a garage on a beam setter ( any MOT testing station has one) there are no height adjusters on the dash like on other cars because the car has air sus so will always ride at the same height .. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

Thanks very much for that, can I ask if it's a big job ie is there simply a manual adjustment which can be performed on the lights or does it involve removing items and some proper tinkering?

Colin.

Spain

Might be worth getting your ride height checked first. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

I believe there are 2 adjusters on each headlight, one for up / down and the other for left / right.

Look behind the headlight and you will see the adjusters, they look like big grey screw heads.

IMO you are better off going to Kwikfit or similar and get then to set them properly Very Happy 2006 RRS SC Bonatti Grey (the 55th car/van I have owned)

As Martyn says, it's a simple job to do using the adjusters on the units. Of course, if you do it yourself it's best to go out to a quiet, flat, straight bit of road and adjust them. Otherwise a 5 minute job for any decent garage.

It's worth checking that the headlights go through their dance correctly - I've noticed that the driver's side unit on mine doesn't always dance back to the correct position resulting in a low beam on that side. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

My lights on low beam are I think too high because a number on coming vehicles flash their lights at me, what is headlight dance business and how do you test it ? 2012 RRS. Orkney Grey
