Suspension

Does anybody know if there are metal damper units inside the rubber suspension units. If there are, can these ( and any other metal bits) rust if the dryer part of the air compressor unit has lost its dryer capability.
Thanks,
Martin

The corner valves can get clogged with Censored passing through the system, giving air leaks due to the valves not sealing correctly.

It does beg the question though, why has it lost its drying capability?

Yes, the strut is an air spring with a separate damper unit inside. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks guys,
The reason I asked was that my Sport has been getting suspension warning lights. By stopping, switching on, off and pressing suspension adjust I can get it to go away. There must be a problem because there is a nearside rear graunchy noise when it does decide to go down. The pump does work because it does go up, so I wondered whether there was something inside stopping it going down.

Sounds like you need to have your fault codes read, as a starting point Thumbs Up
