I know there is conflicting info wether the bonnet needs lifting of not

Is there any way in securing or disabling the bonnet release handle? A small padlock etc

The bonnet catch inside your vehicle cabin can be taken off, its only held on with a star shaped screw, might be worth removing it as another security measure. Wink

That makes sense!! Thumbs Up
My fear is that if things are made harder, more damage may be done so it's a toss up. If window already smashed, a Censored off scrote sticking a screw driver in to dash, seats etc is highly likely?? A real catch 22, no pun intended! Big Cry 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

I do not think that the thieving Censored need to search forums for how to steal stuff they are well ahead. They search forums to see who owns what they want to steal. These people are not thick they are skilled in their chosen 'profession'. If they can get a grill out in seconds how long would it take to disable the horn? My brother was burgled a few years ago they took his Censored front door off on a busy street!! You need to slow them down but sometimes the consequential damage is greater than the loss. Some may wish to consider marking tops of lights and grill (on lip under bonnet) with something like this

eBay Item No. 170593996283

And registering items here

Yes but realistically that's not going to happen, Whistle so best to protect your property as much as you can and at least if things then do get stolen you can make it more difficult for thieves to profit from their past time.

Whatever method we use it must be visible - detaching the bonnet release will only be noticed by the thieves after they have gained access; by which time damage will already be done and, the chances are the you will experience further, anger induced, damage.

At least if a deterrent is visible, you have the chance that they will believe that the hassle, and the delay may make their actions more risky and thus choose to go elsewhere for easier pickings.

The snag is, of course, that a visible deterrent may be unsightly to your own eyes !!

Any ideas we come up with can be exchanged in the open because it wont matter who knows about these measures because they will still work as a deterrent and persuade the opportunists of the risk..

Yes, one very very strange suspect.....

Apparently 30 RRS' have had this happen in the last month. Land Rover Farnells themselves have a suspect, believe it or not it is a garage in Bradford which 'Facelifts' older Sports!!

So anyone looking at getting a conversion from a garage in Bradford, beware!

Not sure I should name the conversion company just yet, police still investigating!

As of yet no parts have been recovered, LR are anticipating 5k+ to put right including; leather cuts inside, damage to door frame, aluminium inside scratched and dual view screen scratched from the force of flying smashed glass!
