I don't know if all insurance companies are the same but I've lightly modded cars in the past and my insurers although happy to insure me they have stipulated that in the event of a claim any damaged parts will only be replaced with standard fit items. 2015 Golf R DSG

It doesn't help that these cars have an alarm as quite as a church mouse Mr. Green I am considering diarming my alarm siren so that it is set to default alarm (Horn) As per Disco Mikey's recommendation. Still won't syop them but might alert passerbys.

The BBUS is very very quiet, and would barely attract any attention.

Using the car horns is much louder, scumbags wouldnt be expecting the alarm to be so loud, and may scare them off, for fear of raising attention to themselves Thumbs Up

The horn idea is a good one, as said instead of quite alarm all hell breaks loose Confused

As an idea, could something as simple as silicone sealant over the bolts slow them down? It's going to stop them usings a spanner and if it's a screw the screwdriver won't fit in the hole Idea

Can always scrape it out if you need too, but that will take time

There were no bolts or screws involved in removing lights or grill on my car but FF has three bolts holding grill. If they are now breaking windows to open bonnet then anything added will slow process but not prevent it where as in past, not opening bonnet restricts access to any mods. It's a crazy situation and LR need to come up with resolution PDQ 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

That's fine, we all know scroats will come online and search forums

So if your referring to my idea, they will come prepared with silicone sealant remover, paste it on and leave it for 40 mins Rolling Eyes

simple1, I was not having a pop at you, but I have read other posts within the forum which describe how easy it is to remove parts from our cars! and it is not restricted to RR sports either!

There are quite a few other marques which have security issues! Wink MY2007 RRS TDV8 Black - tinted glass - side steps- stormer grille - 20" diamond cut alloys - alpaca leather - TV/DVD pack - some blingy chrome bits & bob's

No pops intended or perceived. It's a hot topic and serious issue which needs a response and solution from LR. Any method to slow the thieving Censored down is a good one and while not directly affected, I feel for the folk who have invested their hard earned for a scrote to come along, do major damage for a few quid of drug fix money via eBay. It's plain wrong!! 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
