United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black
has anyone sprayed with an aerosol?

i'm looking at spraying my jet washers java black, thinking that such a small job can be done at home? from what i've been reading, the steps are:
1) sand with 800-1000 grit paper
2) degrease thoroughly
3) use a plastic primer x 3 thin layers
4) sand again with 1500 grit paper
5) standard lacquer free aerosol x 5 layers, or should I use an aerosol followed by lacquer?
6) finish off by polishing the area

has anyone sprayed with an aerosol before and achieved a good, durable finish? any advice would be greatly appreciated. thx Thumbs Up Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.
DONE: Meduza front bumper, AB rear bumper, AB tailpipes, calipers repainted, rear upper tailgate upgrade, side steps, AB front grille, AB side vents, rear LED lights, clear side repeaters, integrated daytime running lights, LED headlights.
TO DO: color code sills and pillars.

i've only read this, apparently because the layering is very thin? I must admit I know nothing so I'm gonna first spray the vents i've dumped (in place of new ab ones).
should it be less primer layers? Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.

Yes i would say so, 2, 3 at most would be sufficient. The key to painting is to make sure your product is very clean and grease free. Thumbs Up

What a cracker lol
Problem is most sunspray machines nowadays are hvlp and it would take a lvhp system to get this particular job done. But they are dirt cheap, the hobby ones, second hand around £50 Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.

This should be enough to atomize the liquid color, but im unsure about the lacquer and primer, but im sure the primer can be aerosol based .
