Led trailer lights

I have ordered a new caravan and just realised it has high level centre led brake light but not sure about rest Shocked

I know lr advise tow electric not compatible for led lights even though it is becoming the norm and wondered if anyone has tried connecting to led yet - did it work or have you had to fix it Sad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Hi Muddywheels, there is heaps of info on this on the Aulro forum in D3/D4/RRS sub section. You can either buy units called "pulsebuster" or fit some resistors in the trailer wiring circuit. Easy job apparently. The RRS is looking to see some resistance from the "normal" 21W globe which the computer then senses, and recognizes that a trailer is there. So with LED's, this resistance is not there. By adding the correct resistors this then provides the car with the correct resistance. Use the search on the Aulro re LED lights and you should find plenty. SWMBO owns this car I get to drive occasionally Smile

I would wait until you have the caravan. If the two outside brake lights are non-LED you will probably be OK as the car will sense the two normal bulbs and therefore have no issues.

I think it's just that we tow things more regularly here, boats especially and a lot of boat trailers have been converted to LED's as they are sealed units.

Hi everyone,

Just picked up a new Bailey Cartagena and the LED side markers front side lights and hi-level brakelight caused no issues with our 2008 2.7 sport. Very Happy

I did e mail Bailey customer services and the answer was , well if the LED lights do flicker drive with the side lights on Rolling with laughter Rules are for the obediance of fools and the guidence of wise men
