Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 SE Santorini Black

Elephant scrotum hide???

So landrover have got their target market sussed with the new RRS, obviously going for (and my tongue is firmly in cheek when I say this) people with more money than taste! Our local dealer has a supercharged with 4k miles on it for £80k!
I am wondering what cars buyers are coming out of to buy one now, downsizing from bentleys?
Us poor boys with 'only' a budget of £50k to spend on a car are being pushed aside!
There is nothing now between high specced evoques and discoverys at £40k and £60k for the sport

Cheers
Dave MY10 TDV6 SE (debadged Wink ), Santorini Black, Flappy paddles, Privacy Glass, 20" Stormers, Mudflaps!

Gone: a comprehensive list of imprezas and a Merc ML AMG

You're right. At the moment there is no base £50k car. (FL 20; Evoque 30; Disco 40; RRS 60; FF 70).

Gosh! They would love to see you over at Porsche where I have seen an £80k Cayenne specc'd up to £140k, never mind the nonsense over at Ferrari.

I'm obviously too mean! Mark

England 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

Codfather, with the current finance deals and PCP's going around you could be sitting in a Ford Focus today and then driving a RRS in a couple of months time!

The banks and finance companies have long forgotten the crash of 2007 and the LR dealerships encourage finance as they make money out of them.......

Phil, Think you have to look at it a different way:

Range Rover:

Evoque: 30k
Evoque XL/ Baby Sport: 45k if it's still to be launched...
RRS: 60k and
FFRR: 70k

Land Rover:

FL: 20k
Baby LR4: 30kon the way
LR4: 40k.

Plugs the gaps nicely...

That just leaves the replacement for the Defender flapping in the wind...

Cheers

If youre thinking about buying a £50k X5, ML, Taureg or Cayenne ie the 3 litre diesel model with a few options, you will not be considering the Evoque even in XL mode because it will still be a car from the class below these vehicles (and its a bit girly) and you will not consider the LR4 or its baby sister because they're a bit utilitarian. Don't forget that the bulk of the new car market are company purchases and 2 things count in that market, contract hire rates and BIK (benefit in kind), both of which are dependent on the price of the vehicle. There will be many company car drivers who fancy a new RRS but whose employers will baulk at the high contract hire rates (due to the high price for the lowest HSE model) and the driver will baulk at the high BIK (due to the high price) and reluctantly conclude that a X5 or ML would be a better choice. L-R are missing out on this market by not having a £50k RRS in S or SE guise because they would sell far more at this price point than the more expensive models. Still, as I said before, I guess they know what they're doing
