Vehicle creeping forward when EPB applied and in Drive

Belated Happy New Year to all forum members and guests. I have a '13 model year RRS and recently have started to experience the vehicle creeping forward when in drive even though the EPB has been applied and the red light on the dash is on. A subsequent second application of the EPB seems to stop the car..

Local dealer has not heard of this before. However, I am sure the combined talent; intelligence and experience on this forum will surely have a better view Very Happy

Any views on cause and fix?

I think the car automatically releases the EPB when it's in drive and there's a pressure on the accelerator.

Is it happening when the car's cold and the tick-over is higher than normal? bit of adjustment required.

Thank you drdelrrs, however in my case the car is warm and all feet are off pedals.

My 2011 RRS did the same, it started creeping forward on a downhill slope even though pedals not touched and EPB light lit on dash.
Adjusted as per Bodsys recommendation and it still did it.
I had avoided using the EPB since new and I now think that maybe the brake linings had not properly conformed to the drum therefor not producing enough friction to apply properly and hold the car.
What I did was to apply the EPB a few times while rolling forward to bed the brake liners properly and the problem appears to have gone away, when I tested it on a downhill slope yesterday, it held well while idling in drive on the slope.

Begs the question, how many people use the parking brake on a regular basis?

I know I seldom do, I just put it in park Thumbs Up In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures

Hi like JimR I use the EPB all of the time but only in N or P. Saves blinding the drivers behind me with my brake lights every time I come to a stop. Also must save on wear in the transmission if you are in D with the foot brake applied, or is that logic flawed? 2015 Range Rover Sport Autobiography Dynamic SDV6

I rarely use the EPB, I just leave it in P. So far I haven't had any problems. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

The handbook for my Jaguar XF (very simialr gearbox) also said that selecting N when at traffic likes saves fuel.

I feel that using the footbrake or EPB to stop the car creeping forwards puts unnecessary load on the transmission. I know it is minor but over an extended period of time............................... ---------------------------

I always use my EPB in start stop traffic and every chance i get, however I select EPB in drive, then move into N once engaged.
sometimes i get a little "Bark" when ive selected it in park. but always dead quiet when selected in drive.
always holds good on our very steep hill in traffic.

Further to my post above, the EPB should hold the vehicle on a slope in drive with engine idling otherwise you may clean up the car in front! The EPB is a pretty basic safety feature.
I wonder if Land Rover are carrying out their own procedure for EBP liner bedding off the production line, as the issue is occurring on low K new cars?
