TLL - mine kicks in when on Sat nav screen - I never ever have a problem - I put it on Sat nav screen - start car in the mornings - don't press any buttons - put car in reverse & screen defaults to camera. This stays like this for weeks at a time it's the same screen for my freeview & Blackvue - I just toggle through the inputs using fixed button or remote .

is it only when it's on satnav screen Peachy, what about when you're in the main screen ? i'm hardly ever in satnav screen and dont want to have to switch to it just to have to get the reverse camera working. call me lazy !

The gvif unit plugs into the satnav DVD player and interrupts the signal to the screen, therefore, it needs to be on the satnav screen. The warning message screen is ok, it doesn't need to have the map on specifically.  Bodsys Brake Bible

TLL - Harry has the same set up as me - helped by Bodsy I believe it sounds worse than it is - what do you use your other 2 screens for ? Settings & 4x4 mode ??? Peachy, i live in dorset which is one big muddy field ! the problem i suppose is when im faced with a restriction, in this case having to be on satnav screen, my brain goes all funny and negative. i want things to be easy and smooth (just like my hoes ).

TLL sorry about the late reply been away for a while.

Reverse camera comes on every time the vehicle is put in reverse regardless of what screen your in, once you put the vehicle back into drive it returns to the screen it was initially on.
