Adding Freeview/Rear View Cam Required

Hi All

I know there have been a number of posts regarding the above subject however is there anyone who can advise what is needed to purchase in order to do the retro fit to my RRS 05 - 09 Model.

I'm wanting to add freeview, rear iew cam and a dvd player to the front screen ad wanting to keep everything oem style so that the option pops up on the options on the screen.

If it's easy enough to complete the fit then I can do this myself, if it isn't i'm in the West Mids and wouldn't mind paying someone to do this.

Your replies would be appreciated.

H

regarding the rear view camera, i've been told that this comes on automatically as soon as you select reverse, but only when you are on the navigation screen. i thought this was a bit too restrictive so haven't gone for this option. i would rather it came on regardless of what screen you were in, as i'm very rarely in the navigation screen. Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.
DONE: Meduza front bumper, AB rear bumper, AB tailpipes, calipers repainted, rear upper tailgate upgrade, side steps, AB front grille, AB side vents, rear LED lights, clear side repeaters, integrated daytime running lights, LED headlights.
TO DO: color code sills and pillars.

awd man, then i've been misinformed !

on another thread, http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic29304-15.html, flack says "When you use a Gvif unit you must be on the map screen to see the reversing camera image when selecting reverse as its an overlay of the map screen, you could use one of the other AV in's but you would need to select the av that you connected the rear view camera to so you can see the image. "

maybe you can enlighten me? are you saying that you don't need to do a thing, you don't need to change to map view, dont need to press the AUX button, i.e. just reverse and go Smile ? Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.

Cheers Guys.

Apparantly we can get a discount for the rear view cam and interface at £249.99 rather than going through the hids4u website.

Can anyone point em in the right direction to get this?

Otherwise the interface will cost me £240 and another £90 for the cam which is a bit much.....

@ tan

I've just noticed that even if my screen is in 4x4 info mode, the rear view camera still seams to override the image display if reverse is selected (triggered by the reversing lights) .

I will check though! RRS gone

You could always go the easier and cheaper route by fitting the camera in to the rear tow bar cover. The camera is about £25 ish rather than £90 Thumbs Up

That way you don't have to get the wires through the headlining or mess around with the rear screen MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys

2012 3.0 SDV6 Luxury gone, but a great motor
