FBH..

Apologies for what may seem a dumb question...

I have the FBH but no timing capability so I believe that the system is a passive operation system...does that mean that when the car is sat in the airport car park when I am away on business every 'cold' morning the FBH chugs away of its own accord...warming things without need??? Confused

No. If there is no timer system on your vehicle then the FBH only operates when you start the engine. It then looks at the temperature of the coolant, the ambient temperature and, I believe, the battery voltage. If the coolant and ambient temperatures are below certain threshold values and the battery has sufficient charge then it will start. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Hello Slider, just had mine done on Wednesday by flack (mick) from this forum.
Now can set timer to come anytime and warm the car up.
I think it only operates though below a certain temperature Thumbs Up Current Volvo XC90 R Design T8

I have a MY12 but it was built in November 2011 and if I understand correctly later build MY12's have the timed feature but the earlier build 12's do not.. Sad

Mines a 2012 (2013MY) SDV6 HSE Lux and doesn't have the timed capability.

I think the key word here is CAN have the capability
all after 2010 can have it but most dont as its a cost option at purchase time ...and not a cheap one for a software switch being enabled...
